In my first year at the Western Gazette as graphics editor, I quickly learned the best way to design and create front page covers and centre spreads. These examples are all from special issues in the 106th volume of the Gazette. My personal favourite here is the Western Map which was my first graphic created for the Gazette. It was used for the Frosh Issue to show new students where to go on campus as well as mapping "secret" tunnels and unseen routes, thus functioning like a marauder's map. The elections issue is an annual issue that comes out every year to coincide with the student council election. This minimalistic artwork was created by me by vectorizing the three candidates and creating a "good bad and ugly" type cover.
